(KMOV.com) - Dozens of residents who live near Forest Park showed up at a public meeting Thursday night to ask questions and share their concerns about Fair St. Louis.
For the first time, the event is being held in Forest Park. It’s anticipated the Fourth of July weekend event will bring thousands of people to the park and nearby neighborhoods, which has many residents concerned about their own property.
“We've had problems in our neighborhood because of the Zoo where people will come and break windows of cars and try to find items,” said one resident.
But event organizers reassured residents police will have a heavy presence in both the park and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Another public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11th 5-7 p.m. at the visitors’ center in Forest Park.
