Crews with the Metropolitan Sewer District are working to stop raw sewage from flowing into a south St. Louis County creek.
MSD officials say a problem with a manhole in Resurrection Cemetery caused the sewage to seep into Mackenzie Creek on Tuesday.
The creek runs through the cemetery and into River Des Peres.
Crews Tuesday night started working to pump around the manhole and stop the sewage flow into the creek. MSD expects cleanup of a 7,000-foot section of the creek to take a few days.
