ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – St. Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn was arrested for DWI in Florissant earlier this month, the team confirmed Thursday.
According to officials, Quinn was involved in a single-vehicle wreck on eastbound I-270 near Washington around 5:40 a.m. on July 10.
Police responded to the scene suspected Quinn was intoxicated and took him into custody.
He was charged with DWI along with two additional traffic-related charges.
Quinn was released after posting a cash bond.
The Rams released a statement on the arrest Thursday afternoon.
“The Rams and the NFL office are aware of the situation regarding Robert Quinn,” the statement read. “We take such matters very seriously, and we will act accordingly once the legal process plays out.”
Quinn, a graduate of North Carolina, was drafted by the Rams the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Quinn recorded 23 tackles and five sacks in his rookie year, starting one game.
