EAST ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – East St. Louis Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who they believe robbed the Associated Bank last August.
Police say back on the 18th of August, a man robbed the Associated Bank located at 326 Missouri Avenue.
The suspect was caught on security cameras leaving the building, but has not yet been caught by police.
He is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot 7-inches tall and 180 pounds. During the robbery, he was wearing a white and blue ball cap with a red emblem on the front, a white t-shirt with a red emblem on the left side and light blue jeans.
An employee at the bank told police the suspect walked into the bank and handed her a note. The note read, “This is not an (expletive) game. Give me money and it won’t be any trouble. No ink packs or trackers or it will be trouble.” The suspect also displayed a weapon.
The teller did as the note asked and placed the money in the suspect’s hands. The suspect then left through the front entrance of the bank. The amount of money taken was not disclosed.
After the suspect left, the teller started screaming for security.
Security personnel called authorities. Investigators were able to obtain security footage of the robbery. They are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
