OVERLAND, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police are looking for a man they say injured a couple during a home invasion in Overland Wednesday morning.
Officials said the armed suspect broke into a home in the 2200 block of Spencer Avenue between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. He then beat up a man and his wife and tied them up with electrical wire.
Police said the man, who is still not being identified, freed himself and called for help.
Neighbor Joan Slusser says she saw the homeowner stumble out of his house looking mangled and bloody.
“I seen the gentleman across the street come over and he was half naked and he was hand-bound, you know tied up,” said Slusser. “I didn’t know what to think of that and I’d seen one side of his face was mangled.”
Both of the victims were transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
Police said the suspect was last seen running south on Spencer. The suspect is described as a tall 30-year-old man with a muscular build.
