(KMOV) -- Officials have successfully negotiated a peaceful standoff in Kinloch with a man accused of firing shots at Ferguson police. The man is also believed to have been involved in a robbery that happened Thursday night in Berkeley.
The incident started around 5:30 p.m. when police spotted a vehicle connected to a Thursday night Berkeley robbery. Police say they saw a man and a woman get into that car, and when they tried to stop them, the man reportedly pushed the woman out of the car and took over the wheel.
This leads to a pursuit, which led to a shootout followed by a foot chase in Kinloch.
The man ended up in a house at random. This caused a standoff between the suspect and police.
By cell phone, family members convinced the man to surrender, officials say.
The suspect now faces multiple charges.
