PAGEDALE, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Police are still searching for the driver of a truck who struck two children, killing one boy and critically injuring a second in Pagedale on Friday night.
Emergency crews were called to the 7300 block of St. Charles Rock Road around 7 p.m.
Four-year-old Trayeshon Williams and 10-year-old Jayshard Conner were reportedly crossing St. Charles Rock Road to buy crackers from a gas station when they were hit. The boys were transported to Children's Hospital, where Trayeshon later died.
Friends of the family say Jayshard remains in critical condition Saturday night with multiple broken bones, but is expected to survive.
Information broadcast on police scanners described the suspect vehicle as a light silver or white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with a silver toolbox in the bed of the truck.
News 4's Ray Preston was headed to the scene when he came across a vehicle matching the police description in a Walgreens parking lot near Lucas and Hunt. Officers investigated the truck, but now say it is not the suspect vehicle.
Police continue the search for the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 911.
