(KMOV) – The St. Louis Police Officer’s Association is calling on Chief Sam Dotson to reinstate an officer fired for punching a juvenile suspect in 2012.

A judge found Officer Rory Bruce not guilty of assault after he was accused of punching a handcuffed juvenile in February of 2012.

He was fired for the incident but the officer’s association claimed the video showed Bruce acting only after the suspect lunged for what might have been a gun.

Judge Theresa Counts did not view the video before making Thursday’s ruling.
