(KMOV) – Pontoon Beach police offer an explanation for why they gave a driver a $120 ticket for having an air freshener hanging from his rearview mirror.

Officers say Zach Galbierz was driving recklessly, squealing his tires and fish-tailing his Chevrolet Camaro in a parking lot – and that’s why they say they pulled him over in the first place.

Police Chief Luehmann says it’s uncommon for his department or any other law enforcement agency to write a ticket for a “window obstruction,” and they say it’s pretty safe to keep your air fresheners and GPS units where they are.
