FERGUSON, Mo (KMOV.com) – Police have named a person of interest in the shooting deaths of two Ferguson women. Darnell Xavier Vaughn, 29, has long dreadlocks and hazel eyes. He is five-foot-11, and weighs about 200 pounds.
Vaughn has several tattoos that include “STL” on the right side of his neck. He is known to frequent Hazelwood, Calverton Park, Ferguson, Baden and Cahokia, IL. He is known by his nickname “Chuckie.”
An at-large warrant is issued for Vaughn for two counts of murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
In addition, two of Vaughn's family members have been arrested along with a friend. Lois Adams, Vaughn's mother, and Darwin Vaughn, the suspect's father were arrested in St. Louis for aiding Vaughn after the fact.
Vaughn's friend DeAndre Galmore was arrested for the same charge in Minneapolis and will be extradited back to St. Louis.
The women were found dead in their apartment on August 31. The victims have been identified as Tasheerra Johnson, 29, and Claudia Williams, 30. Police said Johnson and Williams were found dead Friday morning at the Oakmont Townhomes Complex in the 1600 block of Northwinds Estates Drive. Officials said family members discovered the bodies just after 6 a.m.
Investigators said the victims apparently died from gunshot wounds. Police said a baby was also found the apartment and was not harmed.
