(KMOV) – A 65-year-old woman received minor injuries when someone attempted to steal her purse outside a Target restroom.
At 8:17 p.m. on February 28th, Fairview Heights Police responded to 4701 North Illinois Street for an attempted robbery at a Target store.
Police say the victim first had contact with a female suspect in the women’s restroom. The suspect engaged in small talk, but when the victim exited the restroom, the suspect grabbed her purse and attempted to take it. A struggle started and the victim screamed for help. The suspect finally released the purse and the victim fell to the floor. She received minor injuries in the fall.
Although one suspect attempted to steal the purse, police say they are looking for two suspects in this case. The first suspect, who attempted to steal the purse, is a white female, 20-30 years old, 5’9” with a medium build and brown hair. On the date of the incident, she was wearing blue jeans and a pink and brown shirt.
The second suspect, believed to be an accomplice, is a white male, 20-25 years old, 5’10” with a thin build and light brown or blonde hair. He was wearing jeans and a dark jacket with a white shirt underneath.
The suspects left in a white 4-door vehicle.
