(KMOV.com) – Police were looking for suspects after another St. Louis County business was the victim of a smash-and-grab burglary early Tuesday morning.

Police said two suspects wearing masks smashed a truck into the front door and window of Kay Beauty in the 8600 block of Natural Bridge in Bel-Ridge around 5 a.m.

Authorities said the thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of hair extensions made of human hair and fled the scene.

Similar smash-and-grab crimes have occurred in recent weeks in the St. Louis area, including several crimes at beauty supply stores, where the expensive hair extensions are targeted.

According to police, at least 14 similar incidents occurred from April 25 through the end of May. Several others have been committed since then.
