(KMOV) – Police are investigating a possible connection between two shootings that happened in north St. Louis on the same block in less than 12 hours.

On Sunday afternoon, three women were shot and one was killed during a shooting in the 700 block of Thrush and early Monday morning one man was shot three houses down from the first shooting and was rushed to the hospital.

“We were in the kitchen and we hit the floor,” said Alexander Wright, a resident in the area of the shootings. “We heard the bullets hitting the house and everything.”

Police say bullets hit Wright’s home and cars parked on the street, but no one else was injured during the shooting.

Police believe an ex-boyfriend may be responsible for the shooting that occurred on Sunday and believe four unknown suspects are responsible for the early Monday morning shooting.

Authorities say the man hit did survive, but is still in hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
