(KMOV) -- Madison County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating a pair of shootings near Collinsville.

At least one shot was fired Thursday afternoon outside of Power Recycling in the unincorporated community of State Park.  The recycling center is under new ownership and a partner says they’re trying to clean up the area.  The bullet was fired from a pickup truck at an employee in a Bobcat.  The employee was not injured as the window was shot out.

Surveillance from the bar next door to the recycling center captured the gunfire on camera.

“You can see where the (bullet) hole is, and it was about 4-inches from the gentleman’s head, and he immediately jumped out of the Bobcat,” said an employee who says she watched the surveillance video who did not want to be identified.

Later that day, near Collage Avenue, more shots were fired from a moving vehicle.  No one was hurt at either scene, but investigators believed the shooting are connected.

A Madison County Sheriff’s spokesperson wouldn’t comment on any evidence collected in the investigation because it’s going well and they didn’t want to jeopardize the case.

Lieutenant David Vucich said a person of interest in connection to the shootings was in custody and said the department should be ready to file for formal charges by Monday.
