ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A police car reportedly collided with a civilian car Tuesday night.

According to several witnesses, a police car pulled out of the alley that runs behind Highland Avenue and slammed into a pickup truck that was traveling on Clara.

The police car was not answering a call and was not running lights or sirens according to witnesses and police on scene.

A man and woman in the pickup truck were taken to the hospital.  An infant was also in the truck.  She did not appear to be hurt.

Two officers were in the patrol car.  The passenger suffered a minor head injury and the driver suffered an ankle injury.

Witnesses told News 4 the police car was driving very fast.  Police on scene say the cars have black boxes and the speed of the vehicle is recorded.  The Department Accident Review Board will investigate and determine if the officer was at fault.

Police say the officers were on routine patrol and were circling the block to stop and talk to some pedestrians.
