Armed carjacking suspect captured, charged after manhunt in Florissant

FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Police say the suspect involved in an armed carjacking Friday evening is facing multiple charges.

Police charged Quan Rhodes, 20, with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action on Monday.

According to reports, Rhodes was armed with a pistol when he forced a person out of their car near the intersection of Aubuchon and Washington around 6 p.m. The stolen car was later found crashed. Rhodes was not found in the crashed vehicle, so police initiated a manhunt.

Authorities said officers were not pursuing the suspect at the time of the crash.

During the man hunt, police spotted him fleeing on foot near Dunn and New Florissant Road. A police helicopter was called in to aid in the search. 

Rhodes was arrested on foot in the area of Valerie Drive and Derhake around 8:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported during the carjacking or search.
