(KMOV) – A man accused of  killing an ex-girlfriend inside his O'Fallon home was captured by U.S. Marshals in Oklahoma on Saturday.

Terry Culberson, 63,  was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action last week.

On Feb. 5, officers were called for a well-being check at Culberson’s home in the 30 block of Downing in O'Fallon, Mo.

Upon their arrival, police found 55-year-old Dorothy Hall dead with multiple gunshot wounds. A witness said they saw Culberson drive away from the home just before her body was found.

Police said they learned during an investigation that Culberson had made threats to Hall and her family the day before. An autopsy determined Hall died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Culberson was on the loose for more than a week, and was considered armed and dangerous. Culberson will be extradited to St. Charles early next week.

According to court documents, Culberson has prior conviction for assault with intent to kill with malice.
