(KMOV.com) -- Authorities say they have arrested a 45-year-old suspect who allegedly stabbed a woman with a butcher knife and smacked his two daughters with a folding chair on Saturday.

According to police, the suspect was taken into custody on Sunday. Additional details surrounding the arrest were not immediately available.

Police say the suspect and a 42-year-old woman began arguing about her rental car at a home in the 3600 block of S. Compton around 2:35 a.m.

Authorities say the suspect then went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed the woman in the neck, arms and legs.

Police say the daughters of the victim and suspect tried to break up the fight. That’s when the suspect allegedly struck his daughters with a folding chair.

The woman involved in the initial altercation was transported to the hospital in stable condition. One of the daughters was treated at the hospital for a laceration on her let land.

The suspect fled the scene, but was later apprehended.
