ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Police said they have arrested a man wanted in connection with at least eight robberies in the St. Louis area.
Merrell Burch, 26, was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia for two of the alleged robberies.
The latest incident happened Monday night when Burch allegedly walked into the Subway in the 4600 block of Chippewa in south St. Louis.
According to police, Burch announced a robbery and revealed a weapon. He then exited the store and fled the scene.
Police officers responding to the scene located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s. He was apprehended and taken into custody.
Police said on Saturday, Burch robbed the Quick-Trip in the 6900 block of Gravois.
Authorities said Burch is also responsible for six other robberies in the St. Louis area, though details of those incidents were not immediately available.
More charges were expected to be filed later.
