(KMOV) – Authorities are looking for a woman who posed as a McDonald’s worker and stole money from an O’Fallon, Missouri restaurant earlier this month.

Police said the woman was wearing a uniform when she walked into the McDonald’s in the 100 block of McDonald Ln. on Aug. 20.

According to police, the suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register and left the restaurant.

Police said they believe she drove away in a late-90s dark Buick Park Ave with a silver trunk.

Authorities described the suspect as a 5-foot-9 black woman with a medium building and short curly hair.

A statement was released from the corporate offices of McDonald's:

“Operating safe restaurants will always be a priority for McDonald's and we work hard to ensure all of our employees and guests are provided a safe and respectful restaurant environment. We have long-standing safety and security policies and procedures in place at all of our U.S. restaurants. We take any threat to that safety very seriously, and are fully cooperating with the local authorities on their investigation. Since this is a pending police matter, it would be inappropriate to comment further and we ask that you reach out to the O’Fallon Police Department if you have additional questions.”
