CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago authorities say a 44-year-old woman faces charges for allegedly throwing rubbing alcohol in a bus driver's face during a fight over fare.
Patricia Washington of Chicago is charged with aggravated battery of a transit employee. She's expected in bond court Sunday.
Chicago police say the bus was stopped in the city around 6 p.m. Friday when the dispute began. Police allege that the woman's card was expired and she got off the bus before throwing the alcohol at the driver.
The driver detained Washington until police officers came to the scene.
Both were taken to a Chicago hospital.
The driver was treated and released.
A home phone listing for Washington was disconnected. It was immediately unclear if she had an attorney.
