(KMOV) – Deputies say a woman fired multiple shots after two men broke into her family’s Fenton home early Friday morning.

According to deputies, the woman told officers her family was sleeping upstairs in their home in the 700 block of Buckboard Ln. around 2:50 a.m. when she heard the front door open.

She told deputies she went to the top of the stairs with her handgun and saw two men standing just inside the house.

Authorities say she then fired three shots at the suspects, who fled the scene. Authorities do not believe the suspects were struck.

The woman told police one of the suspects was about 5-feet-7 with a thin build. The other was described as about 6-feet tall and husky.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at (636) – 797-5515.
