(KMOV) – A woman faces charges after she allegedly used mace on an employee during a burglary attempt at Maplewood Commons on Nov. 8.

Latisha Woods, 33, was charged with third-degree assault and stealing.

According to police, Woods was approached by a loss prevention officer who suspected her of stealing.

Police say Woods then reached into her purse, pulled out a can of mace and sprayed the officer.

Woods fled the scene, but was arrested on Dec. 3 after detectives identified the woman.
