GLASGOW VILLAGE, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A "disturbance" outside a local high school basketball game escalated into a shooting on Friday night, according to police.

Officers were called to Lilac and Dornoch in Glasgow Village around 7:30 p.m.

Police say the disturbance started outside Riverview Gardens High School after a game between Riverview and Hazelwood East. The scene then moved several blocks to a nearby residential area.

Five or six shots were reportedly fired, and a victim was struck in the leg. When the victim fell, an unknown suspect walked up to him and took $100 out of his pocket. The victim then ran and was found by police near Lilac and Shepley. Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital, but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Witnesses say two groups of students were walking through a neighborhood near the high school when shots were fired. According to the witness, the students took off running when they heard the gunfire.

Authorities say police were still searching for the shooting suspect late Friday night.
