ALTON, Ill. (KMOV) – Alton police are searching for a suspect who beat a 69-year-old man during a robbery in Alton on Saturday.

 

According to police, the suspect approached the victim in the 2600 block of College Ave. and asked for money. Police said the victim handed over some cash and the suspect produced a knife.

Police said the victim fought back and suffered a large cut on his face. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s wallet and ran.

According to police, the suspect is believed to be responsible for a similar robbery in the 3200 block of College Ave. on Dec. 18.
