ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - Police say there has been a recent rash of bike thefts on the Washington University campus.
Police say several bikes that were locked down were taken. One, was valued at over $1,500.
Washington University sells high quality locks for $20, but some students choose not to buy one.
"Normally I would have a lock, but I lost my key so I don't have a lock anymore," said Washington University student Will Bergman.
The university encourages students to register their bikes so they can be returned to their owners if they are recovered.
