North St. Louis County school placed on lockdown

(KMOV.com) – Police told News 4 Normandy Middle School was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon.

St. Louis County police told News 4 the school, which is located in 7800 block of Natural Bridge Road, was placed on lockdown just before 3:00 p.m. School officials said one student received a text from another student saying an intruder was on campus. The district said the student who received the text then alerted school staff.

A district spokesman said the school kept the students at school 30 minutes past the regular dismissal time before evacuating them. Authorities said they searched the school but could not find an intruder. 

Police told News 4 a female student has been charged with making a terrostic threat.
