(KMOV) – Police say a man used a gun to scare off potential robbers at a home in north St. Louis Monday evening.

According to police, the man was at his home in the 5200 block of Goodfellow around 9 p.m. when five suspects attempted to rob him.

Police said when the homeowner refused, one of the suspects opened fire.

Authorities said that’s when the victim, who has a concealed-carry permit, took out his handgun and fired several shots at the suspects.

No one was hit by gunfire and the suspects fled the scene.

Authorities said the investigation was still ongoing.
