(KMOV) – Police say a man stabbed a good Samaritan who tried to intervene after he was seen choking his girlfriend on a St. Charles County street in late Sept.
Caleb Spoon was charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and third-degree domestic assault.
According to court documents, witnesses saw Spoon choking his girlfriend and pulling her hair on S. Main St. on Sept. 29
Police say a man who saw it happening walked up and tried to help the girl. Authorities say that’s when Spoon stabbed the man in his left side.
The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Health Center for treatment.
Spoon was arrested at the scene. He later told police he “was protecting himself and his girlfriend.”
