(KMOV) – An elementary school in Arnold was closed after a neighboring cell phone tower started leaning on the property and became a fall risk Wednesday evening.

The Lone Dell School building was closed because the US Cellular tower failed its stability evaluation. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deemed the cell tower and the surrounding area safe at 8 p.m. Thursday evening.

U S Cellular had personnel on scene throughout the night along with Jefferson County Sheriffs Deputies to repair the tower.

Tomahawk and Gary road were reopened Thursday night after being closed.
