(KMOV) – A Kansas City man is accused of trying to lure a 13-year-old girl in St. Charles County after meeting her on a meeting singles iPhone app.
Dominique Carter, 21, was charged Thursday with enticing a child, sexual misconduct and first-degree endangerment of a child.
According to court documents, the victim told police she met Carter on Feb. 25 using the iPhone mobile app “Meet 24.” According to the app’s website, users can meet singles in their area and can exchange messages and photos.
During their initial meeting, the victim said Carter wanted her to send nude photos of herself, which she did on Feb. 27.
According to court documents, that same day, Carter offered to drive to her home in Harvester so she could move back with him to Kansas City.
Authorities said that night, the victim snuck out of the house and family members were asleep and met Carter, who had waited outside the home in his vehicle.
Police said while they were driving back, Carter got pulled over for a traffic violation. A deputy noticed the girl in the car and asked why there were together.
According to court documents, Carter told the deputy he was just giving the girl a ride. But the victim admitted she met Carter online and was running away from home. She said Carter was taking her back to his house in Kansas City.
Carter was arrested at the scene and is being in St. Charles County Jail on $50,000 bond.
