ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOV) – A hair removal specialist was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted a female patient during hair removal treatment in St. Peters on Tuesday.

Lawrence Branam, 48, who owns Cosmetic Laser Center, was charged with deviate sexual assault.

Police said the victim visited the center to undergo laser hair removal, which requires several appointments to complete the treatment.

Authorities said after several appointments, Branam started touching her in places not needed for the treatment. The victim told police the touching was sexual and unwanted.

Branam is in the St. Charles County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond.

According to court documents, Branam was charged with third-degree assault after a similar incident in St. Charles County in 2011. That case has not yet been resolved in state court.

St. Peters police is asking anyone who has received treatment at Cosmetic Laser Center and felt they were a victim of Branam to call Detective Ziegemeier at (636) -278-2244 ext. 3594.
