Shooting victim saved by cell phone in front pocket; Suspect at large

(KMOV) – Police hope newly-released photos will help them catch a man who shot someone during an alcohol-infused altercation in Collinsville on Saturday.

The alleged shooter, 54-year-old Robert Jordan, was charged Tuesday with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharged of a firearm and unlawful possession of weapons. He remains at large.

According to police, Jordan was drinking with a neighbor at their apartment building in the 100 block of N. Aurora when they began fighting.

Police say Jordan pulled out a revolver and fired several shots at the victim. One of the shots hit the victim’s leg, but was deflected by a cell phone in his the front pocket.

Jordan then fled the scene in a maroon dodge fan. Police say he is armed and dangerous.
