(KMOV.com) – Police have charged a woman with stealing nearly $1,000 worth of merchandise from a Kohl’s in St. Peters.

According to officers, 61-year-old Billie Marie Pearl used wire cutters to cut sensors off clothing and jewelry from a store in the 4000 block of St. Peters Parkway in March, and put the items in her purse.

The theft was captured on surveillance cameras, and police later recovered the items from Pearl’s purse.

Pearl had been arrested for stealing before, and reportedly told officers she commits the thefts because of her obsessive compulsive disorder.

As a condition of her bond, she is required to see a psychiatrist and take all required medication. She is also not permitted in any department stores.
