2 charged in shooting that seriously injured 10-year-old boy

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) --The Circuit Attorney's Office has charged two men aftetr a 10-year-old boy and an older male were shot in north St. Louis Friday night, the victims of an attack believed to be aimed at the boy's older sister.

Jimmy L. Brown, 19, of the 3800 block of Penrose St. is charged with two counts of First Degree Assault and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. His bond is set at $250,000.

Eric Whitehead,34, of the 5600 block of Amelia St. is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. His bond is set at $75,000.

Police believe the shots were meant for an ex-girlfriend of one of the suspects.
According to police, the men drove by the house at Lexington and North Taylor belonging to the intended victim around 6 p.m. and opened fire, striking her younger brother and a 20-year-old male victim.

The young boy was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the stomach.The second victim was shot in the arm. Both victims remain in serious condition. 

Investigators are trying to determine whether the older victim was connected to the scene, or an innocent bystander.

A third suspect arrested in the incident has not been charged.

The investigation is ongoing.
