ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A man who held a knife to a woman's throat during a robbery in St. Charles had recently been released from prison, according to police.
John Walker, 42, is accused of threatening to kill the woman and burn down her house during a robbery in the 900 block of North Second Street earlier this month.
Police say Walker stole the woman's purse, cell phone and a number of coins. He had reportedly been staying with the woman while working on her St. Charles home.
Walker had been released from prison three weeks prior to the attack, according to authorities, and was on probation for burglary and unlawful use of a weapon.
Walker is now charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
