(KMOV) – The St. Louis County Planning Commission will make a decision concerning the future of Jamestown Mall at a vote Monday.
If the commission declares the mall a blight, the county would be a step closer to gaining control over the now officially closed shopping center.
It's believed the planning commission will pass the issue along to the county council.
Five different companies own parts of Jamestown Mall and previous efforts to redevelop it have failed.
County officials believe declaring the mall a blight is what it'll take to gain control and create a better future for the once thriving center.
