(KMOV.com) – Police are looking for two suspects who fled officers after a hit-and-run wreck in Ballwin early Thursday morning.

Authorities said a witness saw two men attempting to steal speaker boxes out of a person’s car in the 120 block of Pinyon around 12 a.m.

Police said the witness called the car’s owner, who came down and confronted the suspects.

Authorities said the owner attempted to open the suspects’ car door, but they started the vehicle and accelerated.

They then struck the witness, who was knocked into another parked car. He was not injured.

Manchester police said officers spotted the suspects a short time later driving down a dead end street. When the suspects realized they were in a dead end, they got out and ran.

They remain at large.

Police said the driver was a 5-foot-9, 130-pound white man with a slim build. The passenger was 6-foot-3 and also had a slim build.
