(KMOV) – More than a dozen workers were helping rescue a person who got trapped inside a trench in Brentwood on Monday.
Brentwood police say a city employee was working on a lateral sewer line in the 8200 block of Bridgeport around 1:30 p.m. when they got stuck waist-deep in a trench. Authorities said the man got stuck in some mud.
Several firefighters on scene were working to help the victim out of the trench. According to police, the worker was conscious, alert and breathing. Firefighters said they were able to get the man out of the trench. He was later taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The Brentwood City Administrator says the employee had completed the proper training to be working on the ditch.
