MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo (KMOV.com) -- Water main breaks are leaving residents in Maryland Heights with no water. There have been multiple breaks the last few days.
News 4 spoke to residents dealing with two water main breaks in the last 24 hours.
When the water usage goes up in hot weather, water cews have to turn up the water pressure to keep up with higher demand.
When they do that, it often causes small water main breaks.
The break knocked out service over the weekend and into Monday morning, creating some problems for residents.
“It pretty much paralyzes you. I couldn’t make breakfast, or bathe or do my hair,” said resident Marcene Hagens. “You pretty much can’t do anything and it made me late to work this morning.”
The apartment complex says there’s really nothing it can do to help the situation. Crews with the Missouri American Water Company tell News 4 they’ve been extremely busy all weekend.
If a water main breaks and affects your service, let me know about it on my Facebook page, Emily Rau Kmov.
