ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Officials say a man died after he was struck by two vehicles while walking on westbound Interstate 270 east of New Florissant on Saturday night.

Reports say Beaul Haynes, 71, was walking away from a vehicle that was involved in a previous accident around 11:25 p.m. While he was walking, Haynes was reportedly struck by a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

The Sonata then traveled off the right side of the road and hit a sign. A second vehicle, described as a 2010 Honda Civic, struck both the victim and his vehicle.

Haynes was taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital with serious injuries. He later died from his injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash.
