(KMOV) -- No one was hurt after part of a building came crashing down onto the sidewalk below Saturday.

A decorative facade fell from the roof just before 6 p.m. at Michigan and Itaska in south St. Louis. A man who lives in the building said he had been trying to get the facade torn down.

Some children were playing nearby when it happened but were not hurt.
