(KMOV) – Parents are upset over a constant threat of weapons at their kids’ Ferguson-Florissant school and are demanding for tighter security measures.

News 4’s Julian Johnson spoke to a family of a 13-year-old that attends Cross Keys Middle School who say they are sick and tired of getting letters from administrators warning parents of knives being found on campus.

If this is this many times in a couple weeks how many more times is it going to take until somebody gets hurt or killed?” asked Christina Grubb.

In the last ten days, Christina and Glenn Grubb claim they’ve received two letters from Cross Keys school officials telling parents of knives found on school grounds.

“I don't even want to send my kid to school anymore it's all the time bringing letters home about safety,” said Grubb

With a son already attending the school and two younger siblings heading there soon, the Grubbs argue the district is not doing enough to protect their kids, other students and administrators.

“Hopefully get a metal detector in there or maybe a security guard standing at the door,” said Grubb.

Grubb said if security isn’t addressed, they have a back-up plan.

“If they can't change this I know I'm just one person but hopefully others see this I have to move I can't put my other kids there too,” said Grubb

Due to the President’s Day holiday, Cross Keys school officials were not available for comment.
