ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) -- An overnight fire damaged a building once used for an after-school daycare in north St. Louis county.
Fire officials say a fire broke out on the second floor of the building that once housed Radiant Faith Academy in the 5400 block of Ridge shortly after 2 a.m.
A resident was rescued from her home once heavy flames spread to a neighboring building.
The daycare center suffered extensive damage, while the neighboring residential building was only moderately damaged.
Residents in the area tell News 4 the daycare has been closed for about two years.
Fire officials wereinvestigating the cause.
