(KMOV.com) -- A deadly shooting in south St. Louis City on Friday claims one life.
Police said the shooting happened some time around 9:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Cherokee Street.
According to reports, a male victim was shot in the chest at the location. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect, an unknown black male, fled the scene on foot.
