(KMOV) – The St. Louis Fire Department reported one person was injured after an electrical accident downtown Friday morning.

According to the St. Louis Fire Department, a contractor for Ameren was working underground pulling out, what was believed to be, dead electrical cables and replacing them with new cables at 10th and Chestnut when the incident occurred.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with first and second degree burns to the face and arms.

No other details were immediately available.
