(KMOV) -- One person is dead after a passenger van rear ended a semi-tractor trailer around 3:15 Friday afternoon. The accident happened on eastbound Interstate 44 near Highway 100.

Police said Marry Anderson, 29, was killed in the accident. Two eight-year-old children, Keiara Anderson and Daniel Germain, suffered minor injuries. Andrea Dubic, 74, and Sandy Germain, 30, also suffered minor injuries, while 41-year-old Dorlis Germain was taken to the hospital for moderate injuries.

Authorities said the driver of the car did not notice a tractor-trailer stopping in a construction zone and rammed into the back of the truck.

All of the people in the wreck were from Evansville, Ind., and were taken to St. John's Hospital in Creve Couer.
