(KMOV.com) -- A Warren County police officer is in the hospital after being run into by a car that slipped out on ice along I-70.

Missouri Highway Patrol said a Warrenton officer was checking out an accident that happened along I-70 at the Highway 47/ Warrenton exit when a passing car slid on the icy road and struck the officer.

According to authorities, the officer was conscious at the scene, but his condition is unknown. He was transported to a local hospital.
