O’FALLON, Mo (KMOV.com) – An O’Fallon neighborhood is on edge Monday over reckless drivers speeding down their street.

Residents in the Royal Springs Parkway subdivision say speeders have come close to hitting children on their street, and they tell News 4 the city isn’t doing enough to help.

Many drivers are going much faster than the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit which is clearly marked.

Nearly a dozen residents have signed a petition begging city officials to do something more about the constant speeding before someone gets hurt or killed; and Some living in the neighborhood say they’ve been getting the run around from city officials.

City officials say a study was done in September and concluded drivers were going the speed limit for the most part.

However, officials say they are going to keep an eye on things here and, if necessary, add stop signs and speed bumps.
