ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Gov. Jay Nixon and Treasurer Clint Zweifel will be in the St. Louis area Thursday to announce new resources available to businesses following the rioting and looting throughout Ferguson.

Nixon and Zweifel plan to meet with business leaders and announce new ways for businesses in the Ferguson area to recover and grow.  Nixon says funding will be provided by a public-private partnership.

“Our region as far as national reputation has taken a step back...but it’s not something we cannot overcome.  We are able to step up now and I believe we will be judged by how we respond to what has happened,” Nixon said.

An announcement will be made by Nixon at Florissant Valley Community College at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
